This year’s visit to Central Vallarta was special, as we dedicated it to Railroad Earth’s Andy Goessling, an avid Day of Service participant. During our last visit, we cleared the area for a new school house, which they built with a grant from us. This year, we were able to give them a $6,500 grant to build a medical clinic for their community!
Our participants painted a mural on the school house, put the primer coat on the new medical clinic, built raised garden beds out of recycled bottles, and planted peppers, herbs and fruit trees. We also crafted pinatas with the residents and finished our work at the community-owned cenote. Not only did we swim, zip line and go cliff jumping, we also had awesome music from local band Treefunkers with Tim Carbone sitting in.
We are thrilled to provide this community with additional schooling & medical services and are so grateful to everyone who joined us in leaving a positive legacy!
